Assignment 8A- Solving the Problem

Assignment 8A- Solving the Problem

I believe that everyone should have a fair and equal opportunity to live a healthy lifestyle.
I believe we are in one of the unhealthiest times in history where we rely to heavily on pure convenience. The cost of a meal can often times be misleading in comparison to doing the shopping and creating a list of everything that will be needed. I believe that the lack of knowledge makes it harder for consumers to make healthy decisions, after all fast food adds appear everywhere. I also believe that a part of the issue sits with the cost of said food. Cheese burgers at Mcdonalds are 69 cents to $1. If you had a family of six to feed on a $60K salary, would you spend $30 at Mcdonalds or three hours at the grocery store and $100 on groceries. My solution is simple. Start with people you can reach. for me this would be fellow college students. I want to be able to supply my peers with knowledge on the affordable food options. I can put together meal plans that are structured to meet specific dietary needs and even help to preform the specific shopping. Aside from meal plans, I would like to incorporate materials for workouts as well, like a gym kit. If people are unable to exercise at a specific time of day or at a gym then maybe there is a gym kit that can offer the same workout from anywhere. The gym kit will have a sports duffle bag, jump rope, dum bells, kettle balls, resistance bands, and other offerings. Each kit can be completely customizable and can also be bundled with the meal plans for a significant discount.  More over, I can start a blog chat or support site for people to connect on their various health issues, enabling consumers to hold each other accountable. The last thing that can be done here is the spread of knowledge in the form of public lectures. Offering mentorship to college students and at different universities might help to educate people.
